Buganda Road Court Magistrate Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya has acquitted senior Mulago Pathologist Dr Sylvester Nzivuwa and Kinkizi East MP Dr Chris Baryomunsi of charges of illegal possession of body samples. Their case stems from investigations in the mysterious death of former Butallejja District Woman Mp Cerinah Nabanda.
Baryomunsi and Onzivua were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime following illegal possession of the Late Cerinah Nebanda’s body samples after a post mortem at Mulago Hospital.
Cerinah Nebanda died abruptly mid December last year causing mayhem with in heavy weight personalities in the Uganda political circles.
The Mulago Hospital pathologist Dr Sylvester Onzivua was served with a charge of abuse of office and illegal possession of body samples.
Dr Onzivua was arrested at Entebbe International Airport while on his way to South Africa.  It is alleged that the body parts in his possession were meant for further examination in South Africa.
